Terms of Service & Disclaimer
Please read the following terms carefully before using TradePilot. Information provided by this Platform is for reference only and does not constitute legal, tax, or professional customs advice.
Terms of Service & Disclaimer
TradePilot (hereinafter "the Platform") provides tool-based services including AI-assisted HS Code classification, import duty estimation, and compliance information lookup.
By using this Platform, you agree to all terms set out herein. The Platform reserves the right to revise these terms at any time. Continued use after revision constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
This Platform is intended for trade professionals or importers with basic trade knowledge. Users are expected to have the ability to evaluate the accuracy of the tool's results.
Disclaimer on Calculation Results
All tariff rates, tax calculation results, and landed cost estimates provided by this Platform are for reference purposes only and do not constitute customs, legal, or tax advice.
Actual import duties are determined by the final assessment of the Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of China, and local customs offices. Actual taxes may differ from Platform calculations due to factors including product classification, dutiable value assessment, exchange rate application, and tariff interpretation.
The Platform accepts no liability for any direct or indirect losses arising from reliance on calculation results, including but not limited to duty surcharges, fines, cargo clearance delays, or commercial losses.
Disclaimer on AI Classification
HS Code classifications on this Platform are generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI) models and are advisory in nature only.
AI models may produce classification errors due to training data limitations, incomplete descriptions, or product-specific complexity — particularly for semantically ambiguous, multi-purpose, or novel products.
The final determination of HS Code classification rests with the customs authority processing the import declaration. Importers who dispute a classification should apply for an Advance Ruling (GC431) from customs or engage a licensed customs broker.
The Platform's confidence indicators (Green / Yellow / Red) are provided as guidance only and do not represent customs authority determinations.
Data Currency
Platform data originates from official sources including Taiwan's Customs Administration and Ministry of Finance, and is regularly synced, but complete real-time consistency with official publications is not guaranteed.
Tariff data reflects the most recent sync. There may be a brief lag following rate changes. Users should independently verify current applicable rates.
Customs tariff schedules may be revised annually. The Platform cannot guarantee that historical query results reflect currently applicable rates.
Customs Exchange Rate Notice
This Platform uses the ten-day "Customs Clearance Exchange Rate" published by Taiwan's Customs Administration (updated on the 1st, 11th, and 21st of each month) for dutiable value conversion.
This rate is established pursuant to Article 29 of the Customs Act and is the statutory customs rate. It differs from bank buying/selling rates or spot market rates, and this difference may affect calculation results.
For imports spanning two ten-day periods, the applicable rate is that in effect on the date of customs declaration. Platform calculations are based on the currently effective rate and do not account for future rate changes.
Limitations for Individual Cases
This Platform is a general estimation tool and cannot cover all import scenarios. The following situations may affect actual tax liability, and Platform results are not guaranteed to be accurate in such cases:
• Cumulative import frequency within a 6-month period affecting eligibility for personal-use exemptions;
• Import permits, purpose-specific imports, temporary admission (ATA Carnet), and other special regimes;
• Anti-dumping duties, countervailing duties, and other case-specific rates (the Platform uses published rates only, not case-specific investigation findings);
• Free trade zones, bonded warehouses, and other special trade arrangements;
• Case-by-case approvals under Mainland China goods restriction clauses (MW0, MXX, etc.);
• Differences between personal-use and commercial import classification.

Export Duty Calculation Disclaimer
Export duty calculations provided by this Platform are for reference only and do not constitute customs, tax, or legal advice of any kind.
• Estimates only: Export duty calculations are based on publicly available tariff data. Actual duties are determined by the destination country's customs authority. Different customs authorities may assess different amounts due to product classification, origin determination, or valuation methodology.
• Policy change risk: International trade policies (including but not limited to US Section 301/232/122, EU CBAM, China ECFA) may change at any time. The Platform endeavors to stay current, but cannot guarantee all policy changes are reflected.
• ECFA special notice: ECFA Early Harvest List preferential rates may be suspended or modified due to cross-strait political developments. ECFA preference status shown on this Platform is based on the most recent verification and may differ from the current actual status.
• Simplified calculations: Some country calculations are simplified versions that may not include all applicable taxes (such as excise duty, anti-dumping duty, quota restrictions, etc.). "Estimated" labels indicate the rate is not sourced from real-time official data.
• Professional advice: For significant export trade decisions, we recommend consulting a licensed customs broker or trade consultant. For professional assistance, please use the "Contact Advisor" form.
• Data sources: See the Data Sources page for details on each country's tariff data sources.
Recommendations
Before making significant commercial import decisions, we strongly recommend:
• Engaging a licensed Customs Broker to confirm the HS Code and applicable rates;
• Applying to the Customs Administration for an Advance Tariff Classification Ruling (GC431) to obtain a legally binding classification;
• Consulting a trade professional experienced with the specific product category;
• Verifying whether an import permit is required (e.g., pesticides, medical devices, electrical safety certifications, etc.).
